Why I Created Because They Matter
Because They Matter began with a simple belief:some of the people who make the biggest difference in our lives may never become famous, but that doesn’t make their lives any less important. Their stories deserve to be told, remembered,and passed on.
When I started thinking about this idea, I kept coming back to the people who quietly shaped our lives. People who may never have their names in a newspaper or be known by thousands of people, but who mean everything to the people who know them. My father was one of those people.
My father taught me that what makes a person important isn’t fame, money, or recognition. It’s what they leave behind in the people whose lives they touched. There was one word my father wouldn’t let me use ”can’t”. He taught me that not knowing how to do something wasn’t a reason not to try.
That’s why I Created Because They Matter. I wanted to build a place where anyone could tell the story of someone who mattered to them— whether that person is still with us or passed on. A place where ordinary people are never forgotten simply because the rest of the world never new their names.
